Maaaaan. I just got back from seeing Super 8. I really liked it.
I kinda feel like it's the E.T. of my generation.

it looks almost as dumb as cloverfield but not dumber
thank god I don't have to sit through any more previews for it (except for today but that's because I saw bridesmaids which came out like a month ago)
I agree with everything nermy said except I would not admit to seeing bridesmaids and I haven't seen cloverfield so I can't compare anything else's dumbness to it but I can say that super 8 looks really dumb
also et sucked thanks for reaffirming my decision to not like super 8 kt
Every good monster movie that will ever be made has already been made.
Fact.
It was a half-joke, based both on nostalgia and cynicism. I do believe good monster movies are possible in the modern age, but they are few and far between. I love JJ Abrams, but I just don't care for his monster movies. I don't think they are where his flair lies.
Obviously, this is where his flair lies:

One time Danny Glover was in a movie written by J.J. Abrams. He wasn't in love with the script, but he looked forward to working with Joe Pesci. He can look back on it now and smirk reminiscently while sitting in a wicker rocker on his front porch.
