Whilst perusing retail ads for their weekly gun deals, I came across Gander Mountain's ad and they have listed a Bushmaster AR, a Carbon 15. They listed it on sale for $649, down from a regular price of $699. This means, of course, that one could purchase it from a sanely-priced retailer for probably $600.
WTF is this thing? Why is it so cheap? Has anyone heard of it? Does it have any issues?
I'm not a fan of .223, but at this price it might be crazy not to buy one.

The upper and lower receiver on the Carbon 15 are made of polymer. AKA Plastic. Now its not a cheap plastic, but its still plastic. Ive seen and heard of them breaking on the threads for the barrel nut, the front pivot pin, and the threads for the buffer tube. Id stay away. You can build a budget AR for about that much.
