I'm having great fun with this, I bought it a couple days ago and have been playing it pretty much solid.
I've completed the soviet campaign and I'm working my way through Allies.
Anyone else have this and maybe fancy a game online at some point?

How's it compare in awesomeness to RE2? This looks a little too wacky compared to the second game.
I usually get bored with RTS games pretty quick too. Never finished C&C3. So many games coming out in the next two months that I gotta be picky on what I buy.
To add on to sneebeezums questions. Is it harder than RA2? I found RA2 far to easy.
It is no more wacky than RA2 was compared to RA1 to be honest.
I heard it was and I was looking forward to seeing some interesting units, but nothing that really made me go wtf.
It is harder than RA2 yeah. Not much, but it is.
Gemma Atkinson is supposed to be in this game, hot!
ahhh I want this so bad, I must have it!
I'm going to buy this soon.
Gemma Atkinson is in this game, she's in it for quite a lot of the allied side.
Shes also on the allied victorious/defeat flags which I laughed at. Its a terrible picture of her.
I ordered my copy yesterday, waiting on it to arrive. Seen an advert for it, o dear god I really dislike whathas happened to RA since EA got involved, but even they can't make these games bad. Just tarnish.
I don't mean to superbump this, but I figured it was better than making a new thread of the same title.
I have the game now and its pretty damn good. my ra3 name is frawpringles if anyone should wanna battle online
Im not awesome but not terrible either
I've done the Soviet campaign and started the ally one on coop mode (which is pretty awesome). Not played it in months though, simply put it was nothing special. I felt the plot was rather bland and too much importance was put on having famous people in the movies than on actual gaming substance. I don't mean it was bad, it just wasn't anything special, a generic RTS which for me signalled the end of the RA franchise.
I want it to take itself much more seriously. I want to be fighting against a serious backdrop where I could be made to care about the outcome, where I wasn't just there to kill their bases but rather I was there to strike a blow against the enemy. I got non of this from RA3. Its still a nice time killer though. I can't remember what my online nick was, I will need to go look it up, I'd be up for some multiplayer, ideally coop campaigns as I've still to complete the allies one (only did like 3 missions or so) and haven't touched the Jap ones.
How's the friendly AI in this game? I saw this on sale but I don't want to have to rely on friendly AI.
I've completed all the campaigns in the game and I can see what you mean, gismo, when you say there was too much importance on putting famous people in there. Especially in the rising sun campaign, the acting really sucks at some parts, and the story lacks...
I enjoyed beating it though, and battling online has yet to get old.
this is the first pc RTS I've ever played though
LAN skirmishing is great fun, but mental when you get to the harder AI levels
