    Default Whitest Kids U' Know

So do you have a favorite sketch comedy television program?

While I enjoy Mad TV and Saturday Night Live, often I feel as though both shows have gotten into a safe and predictable routine. The shocking and daring skits that originally made these shows popular now are few and far between. For a while I was bored with sketch comedy. However, there is a new television program that I feel is bringing in a breath of fresh air to the genre; The Whitest Kids U' Know is that show.

What I find really appealing about The Whitest Kids is the mix between overly absurd situations, campy jokes, and shocking dark humor. Started by Trevor Moore, the group consists of Moore, Sam Brown, Zach Cregger, Timmy Williams, and Darren Trumeter. So far there has been two seasons. The first season on Fuse and the second on IFC. Recently the group has started filming their third season and I can hardly wait to see it.

Here are some highlights that illustrate why I love this show.

    Mount Everist Act I

    Sandwich Sketch

    Hunting Accident (personal favorite)

I watch this religiously on Youtube, as I don't get the fuse or w/e channel they're on now.

I likes the "Wakin Up the Neighbor" rap they had.

Gallon of PCP was good too.

Yeah this show is pretty cool.. I like it a lot better than SNL- they just got stale and repetitious through the years. It's nice to have a new show bring something fresh to the table.

Sorry but that was just typical American "humor".

Sometimes its funny, generally its not.

Well it's no secret that Britain and America have different comedies, I just prefer Monty Python over Mad TV.

Those videos are really not funny. In general I don't find American comedy very funny, but these sketches didn't even make me smile.

    SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy skits.

    The best. EVER.

America has given the world very few good sketch shows. SNL is the exception, though that's live so it doesn't count, it's more like a variety show that's more focused on sketches than variety.

Britain does have the best sketch shows. Monty Python doesn't count. It's genius lies in surrealism, and the quality of sketch-writing is technically very poor (sketches don't have punchlines, no real jokes etc.). Besides, Monty Python were at their greatest in movie-form (Life Of Brian & Holy Grail).

The cream of British sketch shows includes: The Fast Show, French & Saunders, The Two Ronnies, Monkey Dust, Alexei Sayle's Stuff, Jam, Spoons, Not The 9 o'Clock News and probably dozens more that I've forgotten or which are rarely, if ever, re-broadcast.

My favourite recent American sketch series was American Giant. Some of the sketches on there were just plain genius. Also Mr. Show (which they should really show over here time!) and, if you can call it a sketch show, Wonder Showzen.

The "Timmy Poop" scene was very good. I love the part where he falls asleep on it lol.

Mad TV is for the low IQ peeps who think three and a half men is super funny. In Mad TV's defence they sometimes have funny material, just not all of the time.

woops, at first I thought you were "one of us"

and yeah, as Seer Buffid said, MadTV has its occasional moments, but generally it's just silly stupid crap

as for "Whitest Kids U' Know," I generally don't think they're that funny either.
