Embedding is required because embedded videos don't require people to leave the site. It's not really in our best interests to link people elsewhere because the internet is so full of ritalin kids that some people would just gormlessly follow a chain of links and never come back.

And as pauly said, everything is on youtube.

If you have to trick ppl n2 staying on your site it means your site sucks and once they leave you are scared they won't come back.. You are missing out on something that could only improve your site tho! Anyways it's your site do with it what you will.. My 2 cents.
