    Default Need help with my guitar tuner.

    I haven't picked up my guitar in months and I need to tune it. Now the tuner I have my brother was messin with it so I'm not sure what hz it need to be set at.

    I think it's in like the 440's or something if any one knows please help. Thanks

    440 Hz is a C, I think it corresponds to the 1st fret on the B string.

    I'm not sure what kind of tuner you have, most of the ones I've used don't even display the Hertz. I usually use http://www.tunemybass.com/ to tune my instruments.

    Yeah, I was looking online it was saying between like 438-445hz. Here's the good news I was tuning my string and SNAP! So now I get to buy a new string. Yay!

    No, 440Hz is an A. (Your second string)

    That's standard among all chromatic tuners, and what 99.9% of all music is tuned to.

    Because of their ubiquity, and the fact that they have an adjustable hertz setting, I would hypothesize you're using a Korg chromatic tuner. That is not to say that they're the only tuners with a hertz calibrator, but you could understand my assumption. Anyway, if that is indeed the tuner you are using, you'll want it set to 440Hz because as Lewis said, it is standard among chromatic tuners, and what 99% of all music is tuned to. Wow, that was a long response for a simple question.
