Default trouble finding a christmas present

me and my gf have been together for 2 months, just about, and i dont know what to get her for christmas. she says she doesnt know what she wants, and i told her i dont know what i want, but when she figured it out, man did her eyes light up.

for our 1 month, i burned her a mixed cd of songs that were kind of romantic, but had relevance. like, before we were dating we would just hang out in my car and listen to my i-pod, and songs that came on like that or whatever that she said she liked.

for our 2, i took her to dinner and a movie and bought her a cd that she had been eyeing. not the most grand and romatic of gestures, but you know, what-evs.

i bought her 'twilight', as we have a mutual dislike of the book as a joke present, and i know shes getting me the 'twilight' soundtrack. i was thinking about maybe a toaster, but putting something in the toast-rack. cds would be perfect, but at this point, they kind of seem like a crutch. as weve only been together 2 months, im not really looking at jewelry or anything like that, and nothing impersonal like a gift card.

shes a musician and plays guitar, we have the same vision, she looooveeess one tree hill and will be trasnferring to a college 2 hours away in january -- maybe. so maybe a book on something like that. any help would be appreciated. im not looking for you all to do the work for me, just some ideas. if you dont have the time, or think im lame, i get it.

Why not simple jewelry? You don't have to spend $500 dollars, just shell out $30 or so and get her a simple, dainty gold chain or bracelet?

If she loooooooooves One Tree Hill, you may have just solved your problem.

Maybe try something from Bath and Body Works. Make sure you get a gift receipt if you don't know what scents she likes, but she'll appreciate the effort and even if you miss on the smells, she'll be happy to go exchange them for ones she does like. Every girl on the planet, no exceptions, loves B&BW. It's one of those things that even if you screw it up, you still can't screw it up.

She won't be upset by jewelry, be sure of that.

Make something for her, if you actually put some time in it and make it good she will like it more than most things you can buy her(excluding anything involving diamonds).

Get her something she'll use, especially in college. Example, go to one of those high tech stores (Brookstone, Sharper Image) and buy those really comfortable pillows or blankets. Hard to explain, here's a link of what I'm trying to explain: http://www.brookstone.com/store/prod...ry&prodtemp=t1

Maybe one of your favorite DVD movies you can buy her and then you can watch it together. Go to Borders, they'll most likely have something you can get her.

    finally decided something

i bought a star name. and i know its bs and that businesses aren't commercially allowed to sell something like that, but its the idea behind it that i find important. since shes going off to a school thats 2 hours away and i wont get to see her regularly until the summer, i thought it would be nice. shes getting a poster with the star on it, and a picture of the star cluster, and congratulatory letter, all that good stuff.

before we started dating, we would go out stargazing pretty much every night, or close to it, so it also has some sentimental value.

i repeat, i know i just paid like $50 for a fancy piece of paper, but its more of the idea behind it than anything else.

thank you all for your help.

now you can proceed to call me stupid.

Eh, it sounds cute. My friend did that for his lady friend, she loved it. Good luck.

I'm not allowed to flame you here, so I'll just say this:

It's good that you're supporting the lagging economy by giving $50 on a scamming con-artist and encouraging other entrepreneurial people to enter the thriving con artist sector of the economy rather than just using publishing software to make the "official" certificate yourself for at most a couple of dollars.

i know exactly what im doing, thank you very much. the thing about con-artists is that they never steal your money, they wait for you to give it to them. then they laugh all the way to the bank.

i also ordered her favorite CD on vinyl. there was only one copy left, and its shipping from denmark.
