The little guy I slept with this weekend

The poor little kitty was meowing outside my apartment last night, and he bonded with me instantly. When I was sitting at my computer he was just crawling all over me, even climbing up onto my shoulder blades and sitting there or crawling around to my face to give me little kisses on the ear and cheek.

He was so attached that I ended up having to sleep next to him, with him curled up in my arms. I was worried that he would wander around my apartment and get into something that might hurt him, but thankfully he just stayed in place. We spent most of the day lounging about since I hadn't slept enough last week, but finally I had to give him up to the animal shelter since I can't take care of him. He spent most of the 1/2 hour drive to the shelter either sitting on my shoulders or between my legs, thankfully not peeing and pooping everywhere.

I sort of miss him, and I hope he finds a good loving family.

Also, during WWII, food was scarce in Rome, but feral cats were abundant, so the solution was obvious...


And in the southern region of Puglia, people still eat horse meat. I found it served on the menus in restaurants.

How can you "not be able to take care of" a cat? You clean its litter box, give it food and water every day, and let it sit on your lap and/or sleep with you when it wants to. If it gets sick, you take it to the vet. Done. Cat taken care of.

There ARE situations in which a cat is implausible.

For one, maybe he just does not want his house to smell like cat shit. I could not take care of one in my current situation, my lease forbids it unless I pay some ridiculously high pet fee. With my job, I can sometime be gone almost all day sometimes, meaning leaving at 7 am and not getting home until 8 or 9. Sometimes I need to travel overnight and stay for my job, plus, the hassle of caring for a cat.

Don't get me wrong, I love cats, and dogs, but... meh.

P.S. My mental image of sycld was looking much more fragile and gay, more like this:

Also, I have roach traps, and if the cat eats the contents of a trap or a poisoned roach, it will kill him or make him sick (yes, well this is a problem I have in my apartment currently...)

I miss the little guy already, so I might consider looking into ways of making my place safe for him and get him back.

If you have that big of a roach problem, I'd hire an exterminator, have my landlord (if applicable) hire an exterminator, or move. Once you get them, you almost never get rid of them. Having lived in FL for 4 years, I speak from way too personal experience.

I doubt a cat would eat a roach. Just like lady bugs have chemicals in them that have a bitter taste, roaches have fat bodies in them that store chemicals that are supposed to make them taste like ass too.

Actually, the primary reason why I'm worried about the roach traps is not the poison in the traps themselves, but rather that the kitten would eat a roach that's been poisoned. I've read stories where cats and kittens have been made sick or died from eating a poisoned roach.

Kutti pi is a delicacy among Anglo-Indians (half Indian, half English). It's the unborn fetus of any animal traditionally slaughtered for food. Anglo-Indians were traditionally rejected by both cultures, so I guess that's part of the reason why they are willing to engage in a practice that is considered so abhorrent to both European and Indian sensibilities.
