    Exclamation Vizio vs Zenith LCD HDTV

    Ah the decisions. Im getting a smaller 23 inch LCD and can't decide between the 2.

    I can either get a slightly used Zenith for $275

    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Zenith-Z23LZ5R-Widescreen-Panel-HD-Ready/dp/B0007MGCLM"]Amazon.com: Zenith Z23LZ5R 23-Inch Widescreen Flat Panel HD-Ready LCD TV: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/411FBVS1NCL.@@AMEPARAM@@411FBVS1NCL[/ame]

    Or I can get a brand new vizio for $300

    Obviously the Zenith is worth more but I read a review that didn't exactly recommend it. I really need to decide by tonight so I was hoping someone could recommend me either way. Even if you've never owned either tv, just tell me which one you would get. Thanks.

    I don't really thing either brand is all that amazing. But I would go with the Vizio, of all my friends that have LCDs, all of them have Vizios.

    Eh I seen the vizio in person the picture looked great. Wish I could see the zenith before I bought it, it looks wider.

    My advice as an AV guy is.....neither. Both brands have infamously horrid contrast ratios and refresh rates. Save up a little more money and get a Sony or a Samsung. I have a friend who had only see HD video on a vizio and when he saw my Samsung he asked, "Is that some kind of new, better HD?"

    Given his time constraints and money constraints I believe the Vizio may be better.

    I was going to get a Vizio because my buddy had one, but instead I speant a little more and I bought a better Dynex. I suppose the time is up (which one did you get anyway?), but I'd have to see the specs before I'd give any good advice.

    If you have to choose between the two, then the Vizio. However if you can afford it, Samsung is the only way I'd go. A friend of mine bought a 37" Insignia last year, and it looks like shit. Brand is really important when it comes to TV purchases, and its worth your money to save up for a better TV.

    I have a 42 inch Visio in my bedroom. (Why I need something that big for my bedroom I dunno. O Yeah- *PORN*) The picture quality is good and I like it. I've had it about a year now and it's holding up great.

    Used to work at circuit city, and the most returned tvs were Vizios after olevia. Awful tvs.

    Vizio out of those two but Sonys are the best IMO.

    My 42" Vizio is about 8 months old, my initial impression of the refresh issue had me worried when the wifey would watch her soaps. The macro-blocking would be intermittent but annoying, then I viewed Dark Night on Blue Ray from a PS3 and it was flawless. I have not noticed the macro-blocking on other cable stations, so I am curious how much of the refresh issue is source related. Not a Pixel geek, just my 2 cents.

    My roommate has a broken vizio TV.

    That's all I can really provide here; what did you end up with?
