Default Sim City for the iPhone / iPod Touch

So I recently dropped $10 on Sim City for the iPhone.

    Best. iPhone. Game. Ever.

It's basically Sim City 3000.5. It has most of the flavor of Sim City 3000 (My all time favorite Sim City) with more recent menus, additions, & changes. It's still kind of buggy, but damn if it isn't worth the $10.

Buy it, install it, reboot your iPhone/iPod, and play to your heart's content.

Also, be sure to save often in case you run into a bug or it crashes.

If I ever lower myself to getting an iPhone, I'll look into it.

Though, I'm not sure I want to waste the money on a crashing game.
I hear the voices inside my head. They counsel me. They understand. They talk to me.

I've never personally had it crash, but others apparently have. vOv

    Oh. Thank you for clarifying.

What version do you have, Tengu? I heard 1.0.0 had crashing issues but I don't know if they've released a new version.

I bought 7 Cities TD because I read it was better than Fieldrunners... it's not bad, but it's not particularly great. If I could do it over, I wouldn't buy it again, but it's only $5.

I might look into Sim City, though.

Really? I've read pretty much the opposite, that Fieldrunners is one of the best iPhone games out there, and that 7 Cities is just ok.

I think I'm going to try Heroes of Sparta, if not for anything else than to just see how good the graphics on the iPhone can be and how good action games can be on this platform.

Let me know if you like it. I am hesitant to try it because action games aren't really my genre, but there don't appear to be any RPGs of note available on it.

It's okay, but I'm kinda unimpressed with it. The control scheme is decent, using an on-screen analogue-like stick and attack/shield buttons, but the gameplay feels rather shallow. It's still a decently challenging game, however.

That is sad and vaguely pathetic.

I have this game for my Envy II. It's pretty okay, as far as cell phone games go.

Yeah. But I would like games on my iPod Touch to be like "good" or, day I say, "great," if it's really going to be like a real handheld gaming platform.

Thus far, it seems that action games are the platform's big weakness, which isn't surprising since I think they are the most reliant on physical buttons

I think it may be time for us to come up with a good list of games for the iPhone/iPod touch. Perhaps I will start a thread about it.
