Default I Finally got a comp that can support games

Hey guys, as you can see, I finally received a computer that can support decent games, so no more Starcraft and Warcraft 3 for me. Please brief or tell me some games i should have gotten in the past 2 years that were very good. My comp still can't support Crysis and stuff like that so those don't count. i also own a PS3 and I always prefer console over PC soo. If you guys can tell me some games I missed or some games in the future to look for, that would be great. I completely ignored the PC gaming world in the last few years.

Some games I am really looking for though are Sims 3, Starcraft II and that Diablo stuff, and Empire: Total War.

There's totally enough time to get addicted to Oblivion (plus mods, that is). Fallout 3 is good too. Stalker, Dead Space, Any big name Steam game. Too many to count at the moment. Oh and Far Cry 2 is pretty neato.

How can we see you computer by the way? Willing to post your specs?

Dead space doesn't need very high of requirements to run well. I am saying this only based on personal experience though. Also he didn't specify at all how good his computer was just that it can't support crysis(what a surprise).

edit: here are the minimum requirements

    OS: Windows XP/Vista
Processor: Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz or Equivalent
Memory: 1 GB (2 for vista)
    Hard Drive: 7 GB Free
Video Memory: 256MB (nVidia GeForce 6800/ATI Radeon X1600 Pro (Shader 3.0 support)
    Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
    DirectX: 9.0c
    Keyboard & Mouse
    DVD Rom Drive

Fuck all other games. Team Fortress 2 is the most fun game ever. Fucking ever. Go buy Orange Box.

I'm not really a computer whiz but I'll try to give the specs of my computer soon.

    I have a question though.
I just borrowed Spore from a friend and installed it onto the Vista. Problem is when I search through the folders for a start game icon or something, I can't find anything and when I click on the CD through My Computer, nothing happens. Please help me guys.

Well my comp can support Spore so that is good news, too bad the games was a waste of my time.

I second this, but also you can get FEAR Combat for free from their website. It's the full online experience that you'd get from buying FEAR, but you don't actually have to buy it. Pretty sweet deal I think. I bought the actual game but then I lost it sometime after I beat the single player game. Lucky for me they released it free after that.

FEAR is that good? Because I had a copy for a while but never really played it since my old PC couldn't handle it. I played it before and it was alright, but not amazing in my opinion. Maybe now that I can play online it would be better.

I have the gold edition with all the expansions, but I haven't completed the main storyline from the first yet, but I have been enjoying it quite a lot.

    Not tried it online.

FEAR is just awesome if you play it the same way I played DooM3

Midnight with the curtains drawn, the sound up, the lights off, and the door locked.

Yeah, I know, that's why I thought I'd throw it out there, just to remind everyone.

I was thinking the other day I might play it through again but I think I've lost it

I really didn't think FEAR was that great. I was just coming off the heels of playing another horror themed action game, but I forget which one - it just rendered FEAR as kind of incompetent when it came to the scares.

Yeah I never found FEAR very scary, but that's perhaps because I remember Resident Evil 2. Aside from Resident Evil 3, I haven't been scared by any game since RE2. Not only were you constantly fearful that Tyrant or some other boss would come out, but you generally had low ammo so that made the anxiety even greater. Also when one finally DID come out you'd just be like "oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck."

I still love FEAR because of how awesome the gameplay is. I haven't had as much fun playing a multiplayer game since Medal of Honor: Allied Assault back in the days of the Radeon 9700. Not to mention it is legally free! Pure greatness.

I think every gamer should play through Half Life 2 without a doubt!

FEAR is an awesome game but it can get a little repetitive, but the gameplay is fantastic, so you don't get too bored of it.
Something about doing a flying kick and watching their necks break in slow mo is pretty satisfying! Or watching them get nuked into a skeleton!

The Battlefield line is quite good, but there's a lot of idiot kids playing, if you get into a good server it's great fun though. My favourite is BF2.

Yes I forgot about those! I had BF2 and HL2 for both my PC and PS3, never really played them though. Are the BF2 servers still strong?

Darkfall if you want to try out a good MMORPG (Feb 25)
Team Fortress 2 if you want a shooter.
    Still Alive, maybe.

Why has nobody mentioned Left 4 Dead. It's based off the source engine and is very scalable. My shitty laptop can handle it with integrated graphics, I'm sure you'll be fine.
