    No Watchmen?

Gotta agree that Terminator looks good though.

Why would anyone be looking forward to S. Darko? It makes no sense for the little girl to have anything to do with the original story other than being Donnie's little sister.

I liked Donnie Darko but now they have to go fuck it up by making a stupid sequel.

It doesn't have the same writer/director, that's why I think it will be bad.

there have been only a handful of sequels that have been remotely good/better than the original

in an era where everything and it's dog has a fucking sequel

Let's make another sequel to The Fast and the Furious but let's mix it up a bit and call it Fast & Furious!

I didn't know there is going to be a Donnie Darko sequel, but I agree with mkdisciple.
I think it will be shit and ruin the film.

These are the movies with confirmed release dates that I am looking forward to in 2009, listed in order of release. The bold ones are movies that I am rather quite looking forward to. On an additional note, you should check out the '9' trailer (yes, the title is a number and only a number, not to be confused with 'Nine', which is another movie coming out next year that is not at all interesting).

    Fanboys
Assassination of a High School President
    Watchmen
    I Love You, Man
    This Side of Truth
    Dragonball
    X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Next Day Air (I am kind of black you know)
    Star Trek
    Terminator Salvation
    The Maiden Heist
    Up
    Land of the Lost
    The Year One
    Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
    Funny People
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
    9
    The Informant
    Jennifer's Body
Where the Wild Things Are (assuming it comes out like it is supposed to this time)
    Fantastic Mr. Fox
    Sherlock Holmes

Why the fuck do film makers and movie executives keep naming films absurdly similar to other movies, e.g. Enemies of the State and Fast & Furious?

Well, 9 is called 9 for a very good reason. 9 is based on a short film featuring a character named 9, and Nine is based on a musical named Nine, but I don't know why the musical is called that.

I don't know the show at all, but I think it's about a producer's different relationships with nine different women.

    Sequels can't ruin originals.

    Seven Pounds
    Bronson
    Angels & Demons
    Trick 'r Treat
    Fantastic Mr Fox
    9
    Tekken
    Funny People
He's Just Not That Into You
    Night at The Museum 2
    Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
    The Uninvited

Looking forward to Seven Pounds the most at the minute, but only cause it's out tomorrow. Just checked out the trailer for '9' that Mr.E recommended and it looks awesome, I love Tim Burtons animated films. Funny People is also a winner with the usual cast from films like Superbad and Knocked Up.

Saw a trailer for The Uninvited when I went to watch Slumdog Millionnaire last night (great film by the way) it looks pretty creepy so might be worth checking out. Kind of has a 'The Strangers' vibe to it though. Trick 'r Treat is another one that looks quite good, even though it was supposed to be released Halloween '07 so don't be to dissappointed if they move it back again this Halloween.

It's about Fellini trying to make his movie, 8 1/2. This counts as '1/2' of his movie, thus 'Nine'.

    I think.
