Red face Hello I am making a mix tape for a road trip.

Here are the songs I am going to put on it so far:

    Tiffany - "I Think We're Alone Now"
Quad City DJs - "Space Jam"
Billy Ray Cyrus - "Achy Breaky Heart"
    Cardigans - "Lovefool"
    NWA - "Fuck the Police"
Sir Mixalot - "Baby Got Back"

Please suggest songs along these lines (aka please suggest random songs I guess)

I find that folk-ish songs are actually awesome for road trips, especially in scenic areas.

Billy Bragg and Wilco, Cake.... but I guess these don't really spread across the lines you want. Just something to think about that.

Well I may put some genuinely good songs on there (not that I don't consider the songs I chose good) so Cake would be nice to listen to. I'll look into the others too one too.

Also you reminded me of Barenaked Ladies somehow. One Week will likely go on there.

I put it on the list because hopefully others in the car will become embarrassed and uncomfortable when it plays.

Do you listen to any rap? I'm not sure if the fuck tha police was just a joke or not. If you want to listen to some good rap you probably haven't heard check out some Jedi Mind Tricks. Heavenly divine, I against I, ghengis khan, untitled ft. jus allah and the list goes on. Even if you don't listen to rap youtube a song or 2 from the ones I said and give it a listen. I know a lot of people who were surprised with how much they liked Jedi Mind.

Truth. I have all their albums.

A good song in addition to your playlist is Penguins in Bondage by Frank Zappo.
No words may describe this song. Aha. Just listen.

Other great songs by Jedi Mind include:

    Black Winter Day
    Shadow Business
    And So It Burns
    Razorblade Salvation
On the Eve of War ft. Gza
    Saviourself ft. Killah Priest
    Chinese Water Torture

Fuck it, every song they have is good.

And I have yet to introduce someone to Jedi Mind and have them not love it.

Listen to Shadow Business or Black Winter Day and tell me all Vinnie Paz talks about is war and hate.

In fact, although he does have some songs about war, most of them are about him hating people who aren't tolerant of other religions, and cultures, or about trying to better himself or stuff like that. There's much more to his songs than just war and hate.

Also, listen to Razorblade Salvation after listening to Before The Great Collapse.

Those are all great songs too shinysides. It's so hard for me to pick my favorite jedi mind songs because there are so many that are so fucking good in different ways.

For sure. I pretty much just always have Jedi Mind on random when I listen to them because all their songs are great.

The only problem about jedi mind is you can't exactly put them on at a party.

Yeah, I mostly listen to Jedi Mind when I'm cruising around or when I'm playing COD. Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell is one of the best rap albums I own.

Yeah, I was just listening to that while I drove my buddy to work a couple minutes ago. But every song on that CD is fantastic. Then again, Legacy of Blood is great too, and so are Psycho Social and Violent by Design too.

I just love R.A. the Rugged Man's part in Uncommon Valor. Gutta Music, heavy metal kings they are all amazing.\

I love servants in heaven kings in hell, legacy of blood was my original favorite, violent by design is excellent, visions of gandhi is pretty damn good too. The only album of theirs that I never was the biggest fan of was psycho social. I don't know if I ever really gave it that much of a shot though. Oh and the new one I didn't really listen to yet but I heard it wasn't as good.

Yeah, I haven't heard the new one yet. Psycho Social is just different from their other albums. Its a little more old school, and a lot less of Vinnie Paz blowing up the mic. A couple good songs off Psycho Social are Chinese Water Torture, As It Was In The Beginning... , and The Three Immortals. Gutta Music and Heavy Metal Kings are both good ass songs.
