Default Comp not reading external HDD part II

    Here is the original thread.

So today I took the HDD out of the enclosure, and took the one out of my laptop, and put the 200 GB in the laptop. It started up and said No boot sector on HDD etc etc.

So Im assuming that means the case is more than likely the problem right?

    Yea I'd say so.

For good measure, you can get a Linux Live-CD (Puppy Linux is 94 MB), boot it, and see that your hard drive is intact. Plus once you have Linux working, you can put your laptop hard drive in the enclosure, and see that it (theoretically) does not work since the enclosure is fucked.

But pft. I'd say put things back together, and just buy another enclosure.
