I know we've done this thread a few times before, but it'll be neat to see how the interests of Armory/f15/Great Outdoors veterans have shifted as well as the interests of newcomers.

As far as me goes...
writing (fanfiction, original work)
music (rap, Marilyn Manson, music/game soundtracks)
working out (I'm actually starting to get reasonably fit)
computers
software (games, obviously, but also various programs for piracy and art)

Working around the house, I have quite a bit of cleaning and small repairs to make since I bought it

Repairing things besides the house

Watching the Dukes of Hazzard (currently on Season Three and went through Seasons One and Two in a couple of weeks, but now with cable and internet it may take awhile)

Copious amounts of beer

Watching eccentric music videos on Youtube while consuming said beer, Newcleus, Hank Snow, Spike Jones, and many more were on the playlist last night

I love playing chess. I'm completely horrible at it but it's interesting to learn and fun to play. Sadly it's one of those pass times that people from the south look at you funny for doing so I've learned to keep it to myself for the most part.

Unfortunately space and money keep me from doing other things I'd love to try. Mostly space because a lot of hobbies that I'd like to do could be started with little money.

Knife making - Mostly space. I'm casually looking for the stuff to build a forge buy an anvil and a vice. All 3 could go into other interests I have.

Carving - Devoted time. Honestly I have some blades so I really just need to put the time into learning it. Ultimately I want to carve some wooden belt buckles and then turn them into metal. (see forge)

Wood working - Space and money. Everyone would like to build their own cabinets and things. I think I'd like to start of with a few saws and maybe a lathe.

Ohh pffft, I've written poetry, about british literature, letters to no one (a la Thomas de quincy)

Generally anything that catches my fancy.

I wrote a lot more poetry when I was younger, but now I mainly just write thoughts and observations for fun.


I wrote about 100 pages of thoughts, stuff like that about my trip to Russia, and the couple of folks I let read it say it said a lot more about my trip than the pictures I took.

My longest story online is presently 162k words or so. I have many more stories, so I think it would be fair to say that I have a quarter million words online if not significantly more.
