    Default Physx Card

Need advice on a Physx card(Nvidia GPU) for around 100 bucks. I currently run a computer with a 4870 1GB(it's possible to do it on Win 7).

If youre talking what I think youre talking about, its basically another card that works with the video card and relieves it from having to do physics and you will see a small increase in performance. Its one of those, if you have the money and want to spend it then get it, if not you dont really need it.

I haven't researched, but putting a ATI card with a nvida card sounds like a plan that won't work.

At this point in time, ATi GPUS are not Physx-supported.

Most games dont even support Physx cards, dont waste your money, the 4870 is a fantastic card all on its own.

I think the general consensus agrees with you.

I was under the impression they didn't even make them any more and that they were never originally worth all that money to begin with.

Any new make of Nvidia GPUs can be used as a Physx Card.

PhysX is a huge gimmick and not really worth running a separate card for imo. Most games support Havok anyway.

That doesn't contradict what he said; the setup in the video is using the Nvidia card for physics. Also, that doesn't work in Vista.

Whoever was the moron who neg-repped me...I said that ATi cards aren't SUPPORTED.

They aren't, to my knowledge, without modified drivers. I was merely warning you.
