Default I just ordered The Killing Joke and Watchmen

Why? Well I was planning on just picking up Marvels, but the artwork in The Killing Joke just made me cum in my pants so I had to get it, and Watchmen well because Amazon recommended it; both are by Alan Moore I believe.

    I AM SO PUMPED

Watchmen is pretty heavy. I hated it at first, but it grew on me quickly. Definitely worth buying!

One of my favorite quotes is in the Killing Joke.

"The difference between sane and insane is one bad day. That's how far gone I am. One bad day."

That's probably not the exact quote as I am at work and don't have it on hand.

Killing Joke is one of the darkest comics I've ever read (and I read some dark shit)

Watchmen was amazing as well. Rorschach is a god among men.

I've read both of those. Watchmen is really good. I didn't like the Killing Joke that much. The artwork was fantastic but the story and concept wasn't that great. I guess I just thought the origin story kind of ruined it.

Oddly enough, I don't read comic books, but my brother recently recommended (and sent to me) these two exact comics. I really, really enjoyed the Watchmen, and it's certainly something I plan on rereading fairly soon. Parts of the story grate on me, and it can get a little ponderous at times, weighed down by it's own sense of self-importance, which I usually find to be a critical flaw and the point where I stop reading the story, but it ended really incredibly well, so I didn't mind it at all.

Also fuck Rorschach for a lot of reasons. Ozymandias ftw

I enjoyed The Killing Joke, but it didn't really meet my expectations, then again I didn't really know what to expect. I did love the art though.

Right now I'm somewhere in the middle of Watchmen and I'm trying to figure out where this story is going.

edit-i read like three more pages and it got back on track.

The idea of creating a recoloured edition of The Killing Joke lives up to the comic's name.

    Fixed.

I really thought that they were going to quote that in The Dark Knight, when The Joker starts the sentence with "Madness is like..." I thought he was going to say "...Having a really bad day.", but he goes with "Gravity." Feh.

The title of this thread on the front page is "I just ordered The Killing..."

And I clicked on it to see whom you order the killing of. How disappointing.
