    Default HDD space vanished...

I had three movies downloading on torrents, then I removed two because the seeds were shitty.

The space for them was "reserved" when I saved the torrent. I checked my space before I DLed them, and after they started. Then when I removed them from the list, the space is still taken. How do I get it back?

Mine has done this before and then corrected itself after a reboot or something so maybe try that if you haven't already.

Or if the torrent still created a folder with file place holders in them then try deleting that.

    Otherwise I've no idea.

Run a program called ccleaner and then run a disk cleanup (go to my computer > right click on hard drive(s) > select properties > select disk cleanup on general tab) to free up space.

    Then reboot

Yeah, the files are probably just in a temp folder somewhere or only partially deleted or some mess like that. A reboot or running crapcleaner should fic that up.

Did you check to see if the torrent data was removed as well? Most clients delete the .torrent and data files separately unless told otherwise.

Otherwise download and run http://windirstat.info/ and see where the space is.

How is cleaning out orphaned registry keys and temp files going to help? CCleaner probably doesn't even know about the location his torrent data gets stored.... unless he's downloading to c:\temp or %userprofile%\temp.

Deleting torrents from your downloader doesn't usually remove the files and/or reserved space from the torrent. Go to the location where the movies were saved and delete the files/folders there.

Uh, there's no functional difference. It's just a matter of where the file is saved. Pretty much every torrent app creates a copy of the .torrent in the profile anyway. You probably deleted the .torrent and left the actual data (preallocated space in the form of temp files).
