    Default Roadtrip

I leave Friday for Arkansas, which is a 14 hour drive from here. I am looking to make a playlist to get me through most of it, and I am looking for suggestions for playlist inclusion. All genres are welcome, but I make final decision on what is included. List a few songs and I'll figure out whether to include them or not.

I will list a few random songs off the top of my head:

'Pineapple Heart' by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
'Pencil Thin Mustache' by Jimmy Buffet
'You Never Had It' by RJD2

EDIT: 'Two Princes' by Spin Doctors, because it is obligatory

Well, Pencil Thin Mustache is already on there, I'm not a huge Flecktones fan, and the only song I have by RJD2 is Seasons Ft. CunninLynguists & Masta Ace. But I may have to change that. Thanks for the ideas though.

The Flecktones song I suggested is pretty trancey and is on my roadtrip mix which is why I suggested it. There is a better one on there but I can't remember what it is called.

The song by RJD2 I suggested is on his album The Third Hand which is very different than his previous efforts.

Alright, I'll keep those in mind. I searched for the flecktones song, but I couldn't find a stream anywhere and I don't torrent on this computer.

Honestly, I've never understood the concept of "roadtrip music". What I do on long trips is take a handful of "one-long song" albums; these seem to make the trip much shorter. I also tend to throw in albums with two or three songs that add up to be an hour or so. Some of the albums I bring include:

Boris - Flood, Feedbacker, Absolutego, and Sun Baked Snow Cave
    Sleep - Dopesmoker
Corrupted - El mundo frio and Llenandose de gusanos
    Naked City - Leng Tch'e
    Monster Magnet - Tab

    This should get you started.
The fiery red Torino rolled to the curb, we hit the pavement ready for action.

I was just thinking about this the other day, I think I'm gonna get it before I leave. I really like their versions of Let It Be, Hey Jude, Dear Prudence and a few others. I never saw the whole movie though.

Yo La Tengo. The Old Crow Medicine Show, Jefferson Airplane, The Beatles' Revolver, Patti Smith and Echo & The Bunnymen are all acceptable choices.
