Thumbs down Multiple people using the same computer...

I know what you're thinking, that sucks but hey, not everybody can afford to have their own computer ya know. Just be lucky you don't have to share your computer with 5 other family members. It can get pretty hectic.

Anyways, the question is what are some ways to keep your personal stuff private without having to buy another computer?

A USB flash drive or external hard drive are great options to store personal files with out having everyone have access to them.

To top that, format the flash drive and toss on PortableApps. You can then add Firefox and a slew of other portable variants to the drive (as long as you have the space). That version of Firefox will leave no trace of where you were, and you can even set it to wipe all of your browsing data each session. I use it at school, and I am able to keep track of every bookmark and site I go to. Quite useful when a campus is so restrictive.

A small external hard drive would be a good solution.

Make yourself your own user account and put a password on it.

Instead of having a physical external drive, you could 'make one' with True Crypt. Basically you make a xx GB file, then you mount it with True Crypt, then you can hide your portable apps/porn/etc there. There are even options to automatically lock the drive if say, your screen saver comes on.
