Default My jump drive is messed up

I have an 8GB jump drive, but for some reason, lately (it wasn't like this when I got it) it says that I only have 1.46GB available space, and that 6.somethingGB is "on disk".

How do I get to the space that's "on disk"?

You wouldn't happen to have 6 gigs of stuff on the drive would you? This may sound like a stupid question but if you throw a movie or something on there it can get eaten up pretty fast.

It's obviously either STDs (judging by your drive name) or someone set up a secured partition on it that is taking that up that space in reserves, it shows as used because that partition is held by the secured portion of the drive. If any software came preloaded on it, run that and reformat/unlock the stick.

    Nothing came preloaded on it...
All I've used it for is transferring music, and sometimes when I do that my computer tells me I need to shut down... so maybe there's a virus on it or something?

EDIT: I named it Herpes because I'm lame and think it's funny to give people herpes.

Maybe, but probably not. Try reformatting the stick and it should take your blues away.

Right click or one of the file menus, I dunno how it works on Macs. You should see an option somewhere to format it.
