Did my monitor die?

So I was playing WoW on my 2 week old computer. and the screen went white with colored lines. I could still hear everyone on vent and apparently move around in WoW. I'm not sure if its the graphics card (which it shouldn't be) or the monitor which is old. When I hit the menu button on the screen the menu doesnt come up. When i plug and unplug it from the comptuer the white lines appear and reappear but i think thats just the monitor going to sleep or whatever. i dont have another monitor or the cord to try it on my roommates laptop.

Sure you do, unless you only have a DVI cable, unplug the VGA cable from the back of your PC and plug it into the laptop, and then make the laptop export the video to the monitor.

Worst case scenario is throw the monitor in your car and take it to a friends house or something to plug it into another PC. If I had to guess I would say it is probably the monitor going out.

Heh, last time a monitor went on me, it burst into flames halfway through me and my friends were watching a film.
It was a CRT though I guess.
