    Default AR-15 Sight Mount

I've been looking for it, and I know someone posted a link to one on here a while ago, but I can't find it. I'm looking for a forward sight mount that attaches to an AR-15 carry handle, so the sight mounts over the handguards. If anyone can post a link to one it would be extremely appreciated. I can't seem to find one anywhere.

I think there are a couple different companies that make them for people who are unfortunate enough to have accidentally purchased an AR with an A2-style non-detachable carry handle instead of a flattop upper. Here is the one from A.R.M.S.:

    Hope this helps!

    BAM.

I knew it was called something like a carry handle forward mount.

It wasn't in there. Those were similar but they didn't have the forward rail that went over the handguards, just the carry handle rail.

Ohhh sorry, I see now that my link just went to the ARMS catalog page, not the actual item page. Yes, ARMS does have one, it's #39, the A2 Plus Mount. You can find it on the third page of the catalog section I linked to, first column, second from the bottom.

Here it is on another dealer's site:

If you buy something like this, I would STRONGLY recommend getting the ARMS model instead of the CAA one. It's a bit more expensive but we are already talking about a $1000 rifle here so an extra $90 to get a good scope mount shouldn't be a problem. CAA is, shall we say, not known for product quality.

CAA makes some pretty good stuff from what Ive seen. But not the best.

ARMS on the other hand makes the best mounts you can get.

There's going to be a more significant offset between your reticle and where the bullet actually goes methinks, but unless you're trying to do precision shooting, I bet you won't even notice.

It mounts in front of the carry handle, not on top. But even carry handle mounts on the top are good. You just need to know how far its sighted in for and adjust accordingly.
