    Default All media is failing?

Ok, so every now and then - more often recently - everything media on my computer will stop working.

Youtube/any streaming media - Videos will pause - I'll hit play, itll play wth no sound for about 2 seconds and stop.
iTunes - I'll hit play, the icon will change, but the seek bar won't move, the timecode won't change and no audio will come out.
Logic - Hit play and the cursor bar won't move, timecode won't change.

The only way to get it back is to reboot.

2.8gig core 2 Intel iMac, however this used to happen back on Windows XP.

Same thing would happen to me, and I found out that if I disable AVG antivirus, everything functions normally. Which is strange, because when I look at the task manager, AVG isn't hogging resources...

A good point sir, but with only 2 minor snags!

One, I don't have AVG, and two, I don't have AVG!
I understand that this is only one point, however I felt it was such a large point it was worth mentioning twice!

Yes, I need to watch far less Red Dwarf.

Only thing I can think of, if applicable on Macs, is that your codecs are corrupt or you don't have any of the proper codecs installed. I wish I could give more info.

Yeah I didn't assume that you did. I guess my point was that something could be hogging resources.

    Ah, I missed the implication.
I've been suggested this on another forum - next time it happens I'll close the top few processes and see if it helps.
