    Cool Google Chrome

Anyone else using Googles new browser? I love it so far, it's fast as fuck. The only bad thing about it is the lack of plugins, especially adblock.

I love that each tab has its own process. I'm using it over Firefox for the time being.

I'm not on Windows enough to bother trying, but I heard it's resource intensive. Is that true?

Yeah no plugins means I won't be using it, plus what Anony D posted makes me never want to use it.

The EULA has been updated. Also, do you not use Microsoft word? They own everything you write. Do you not use blogs online? Because they call first dibs. Do you really think Google is going to take over the world with it's cache of your bizarro porn searches? Grow up.

Yes but everyone knows google collects and sells on private data, Google stores the info online and can easily sell it / pass it on, whereas MS would have to STEAL your documents to gain any info you type (since word isn't directly connected to the net). I don't trust Google at all, and when you say grow up, it shows you know little about what Google does...

What the fuck do you have against Google? 4srs, I'm looking for any kind of evidence.

I've seen that part of the EULA posted around the internet, doesn't bother me one bit. I'll risk it for now.

I will not use a web browser who owns everything I view or type in their web browser. I was actually going to post that part of the EULA when I saw this thread, but I got beat to it. Oh look, you upload your research paper to your file server in google's web browser... Google fucking owns it now. As well as the drunken pictures you upload to facebook, meh.

I browse CD and a couple of other sites on it and watch porn through IE anyway. It can own my content if it likes, it is quite nice to use.

Is Google's office actually made of solid gold bricks? Because they own everything and they're totally psychorich.

I wish I was one of the two homos that made it. Even if it meant buttsexs with a dude called Sergei.

Its called OpenOffice. No I don't use MS word nor do I blog, people using Microsoft word are the ones that really need to grow up. Also there is a major difference between typing something in a word processing program vs transmitting data through a program over the internet.

Well, I tried Google Chrome and there aren't enough buttons for me

I think I'll be FF4LYFE, unless Google pulls off something amazing.
And Adblock is available for Google Chrome...in a way. Read more here: http://www.fritscher.ch/blog/2008/09...-with-privoxy/

hey i bought microsoft office 08 i like it but then again i love my macbook, ive never been so excited about word processing ever. plus don't kid yourself, everyone uses word and office in general

the os is really that much better. if only macs werent so expensive and exclusiv and if it had more support, apps, and the absence of smug mac users and those annoying (yet brilliantly marketed) commercials, microsoft would be fucked

Those that are concerned about the EULA are fucking retarded. That EULA was copied from one of their other EULAs and they forgot to remove that part. Google has already changed it and the change is retroactive, meaning if you downloaded it before the change, THE CHANGE STILL AFFECTS YOU. So if you are bitching about Google owning anything you do in the browser, go fuck yourself you ignorant prick.

Oh, shit, you mean there's freeware stuff on the internet? NO FUCKING WAY! I can't believe it... You've shattered my entire world. I thought without MS Word I'd have to use Notepad and there's no spellcheck and the text all wraps. Thank Jesus you were there.

I got my MS Office free. But I'm glad that you think using MSWord is the mark of someone who needs to grow up over someone who believes bizarro conspiracy theories about what Google does with your fanatical searches for 'goat fisting'.

I mean you can be aloof as much as you want, but do you not think google's actions in the area of customer confidentiality are a bit dodgy? They've been criticised many times before. I mean, yeah, it probably makes little practical difference, but do you not feel at all uneasy? Or are you just an aloof pretentious swine?

    This.

And also because they refused a court order to give out search results some time back because it would violate something or other.

    But mainly the swine thing.

I thought that was the nifty part. I've never been a fan of how big navigation bar, et al is. Once it allows add-ons, I could see myself using it much more often.

I've been hearing so much about. Is it really that good? I'm using Firefox 3 right now and don't see a reason to switch unless the Beta is that much better.

I just typed a 5 paragraph post about Google, but because CD is new and I forgot to check "remember me," I lost the post.

    I will sum up.

    1) Google is not evil.
    2) Google is not evil.
    3) Conspiracy theorists always question corporations or single entities with large amounts of power (as they should).
    4) In this case, Google is not doing anything so shady that we must shun them.
    5) Google treats their employees better than almost any other corporation in the USA.
    6) Google is committed to maintaining the privacy of their users.
    7) Chrome is fast, efficient, sleek, and precisely what I want in a browser. I haven't looked back since the release of the beta.
    8) Google is not evil.

Sole, that list just makes you seem like a faggot who is behind the times.

OF COURSE Google is evil. OF COURSE they're selling your search results to the North Koreans*. OF COURSE they'll kill you if you find any of this out.

    You're just not being sensible.

(*Editor's note: Are they even a threat anymore?)
