Default Pick what movie I watch?

I have to write a paper about a movie, and in said paper I have to either recommend the movie to watch or to avoid.

    You pick.

Not sure if you'd like it, but Lars and the Real Girl is pretty good, even though the summary makes it sound like a movie for cheap laughs. Rest assured, it isn't.

I have it, and really like it.

But I picked stuff that I can write about for people like my mother to stay away from.

That's a pretty meh-ish list of films. Sure, some of them are good, but none of them really stick out.

If I had to choose, I'd pick Dogma. I'd say Snakes on a Plane, but let's face it, the film has lost it's luster since the 2006 e-hype fest.

What would you recommend then that isn't on the list?

Any movie that you're mother would be too embarrassed to watch, or vomit while watching,

Apparently I'm the only person who realizes that Snake on the Plane is one of the greatest movies ever.

It's an excellent David Lynch film. It appears to be a relatively tame mystery film in the beginning, then it's titters, violence, and f-bombs oh my! Plus the film's a classic and a must-watch (in b4 bitching and whining).

    lol @ your list

My mother actually loved Dogma. I don't see how your mother would be too embarrassed to watch it and I certainly don't see how the movie could make anyone vomit.

Young People Fucking is a good movie and would make most mothers embarrassed or at least too embarrassed to watch it with her kid.

Not that she would be embarrassed to watch it, I saw The Departed and A History of Violence with her. She just wouldn't agree with some of the religious jokes.

I actually think Superbad is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time, if you're any good at analysing contemporary humour.

Also, Dogma is one of my mum's favourite movies, but this is Godless England so what do you expect...

I hated Dogma. Talk about a pretentious but shallow film.

Make no mistake about it, I love Kevin Smith's films.

Hell I even bought both Evening With Kevin Smith DVDs. That doesn't mean that his movies aren't shallow and pretentious though. My personal favorite is still the original Clerks.
