MAG open beta (PS3)

I've just downloaded and updated and whatnot in time for the severs to be up (1pm here).

Anyone played this yet? Anyone know anything about it?

It's certainly worth checking out in my opinion. I enjoyed the massiveness of Battlefield 2(PC) and this is even bigger. Only downside is graphically it's not up to scratch, but that's to be expected with the amount of players.

I'll probably download it after my internet billing period is over (lol shitty Australian internets). I'm not really convinced with this one, it seems like they spent a fair bit of time creating the netcode to sustain so many people in one server but whether they actually bothered creating shooter mechanics worth a damn remains to be seen.

I got a single match in yesterday, but I can't comment on how it is yet. I'd need more time with it.

Feels horrible I think. Moving around is fine, but going from sprint to a quick manoeuvre is just...yucky.

Shooting annoyed me. If you saw someone in the distance then unless you have a sniper it's fucking hard to hit them more than once, and by then the other team have all seen where you are and you get raped.

Not my cup of tea.

When I played, I had a commander issuing orders, and telling me when to attack. I didn't die an exceptional amount, and the coordination my squad had was pretty good.

Not feeling it. It just seemed, sluggish. Controls, movement, gun-play, everything. I shot the hell out of a guy in the back and he didn't go down only to get sniped from far off in the distance. Lame. I'll play it a bit more, see if I can get used to it but I'm pretty sure my opinion won't sway much.

Anyone actually buy this? My housemate just bought it and we've been playing it a bit. I like it. It does takea few more bullets to kill people than mw2 but that doesnt bother me too much.
It is harder to hit targets far away without a sniper, but isn't that just realism? Otherwise who would use a sniper.
The graphics aren't amazing but yeah more people and involved maps so that doesn't bother me really.

We haven't gotten far only a few matches but I'm looking forward to what's unlockable.

It is very different playstyle to mw2, more slow paced and tactical and harder.
So I expect to hear a lot of people who don't like it lol. The game is good though, people just like easy games.
