Well I finally chose a side.
It has taken many years, and many arguments but I have finally chosen a side...I enjoy Marvel Comics more then DC. Now I am sure there has been grand debates about which one is better, but I just find Marvel Comics more interesting and their characters a little more interesting. Don't get me wrong, I love DC (the outsiders is my favorite at the moment) but, if I had to get into a gang war at the Comic Con, I'm goin with the guys dressed as the X-men and Captain America.
Let the arguments begin.
i don't have a side. dc has my favourites, but marvel probably has a bigger selection of greats-though-not-favourites.
I'm in no way a comic book guy but I think DC comics are written better, have better characters and have that darker edge more often but Marvel comics are just more enjoyable in pretty much every way.
Yeah, DC usually has the gritter edge but Marvel always has some thinkers. Like their whole Civil War story arc was pretty bad ass and got you pondering.Originally Posted by simonj

Well there's Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, The Punisher, the Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America vs. Superman, Batman, .......well that's pretty much all that's worth mentioning.
The choice is pretty clear. Although DC did spawn Teen Titans, which is an awesome cartoon.
I think Marvel is better overall, but that DC's best work is better than Marvel's best work

Also, you left out The Flash, Green Lantern and the Alan Moore DC stuff.
As a side note, Alan Moore's cameo in the Simpsons is one of the greatest cameos ever.
The flash just recently got interesting for the first time in a long time. Green Lantern should definitely be on the list though.

I agree with this, aside from the whole X-Men thing. X-Men has to be the greatest comic of all time.
I did forget Green Lantern, but to be fair The Flash is barely worth mentioning. I also stand by the fact that other than the movie Teen Titans is a pretty great cartoon.

I am still trying to catch up with the last few years of comics. I just finished the complete House of M story arc and Civil War story arc...I enjoyed them both.
DC has Batman other than that though, they can't even touch the Marvel universe.
Plus I don't really dig the fake cities.
Although with the limited comic book knowledge I have, I think it's pretty clear that the DC universe characters could beat the fucking shit out of the Marvel universe.
