I have a beta key that will work for 25 people, and I've only used it with one friend.
There will be one more beta, so if you want to try it, lemme know. It's not the great promise of GW2, but it seems like it has a good deal of potential. For a beta it's working pretty well, far better than a number of recent MMOs at release.

Go to https://account.RIFTgame.com, set a username and pw, and add the beta code.
Beta 7 should start around a week from now. A day or two before Beta 7, you'll get a notification by email that you've been invited. From there you can go to your account page, agree to the ToS, and download the beta patcher.

Im a Ranger/Sabotuer/Bard. Will probably replace Saboteur with Marksman or whatever when I can and keep bard for buffs
Bard+Ranger is pretty awesome at soloing, at least up to the late teens. I have Nightstalker too for the large number of stat and damage passive bonus talents plus the Fiery Spike DoT which I try to keep refreshed if I'm kiting an enemy or attacking something which will out-live the DoT's duration.

Started to play a mage and enjoyed that as well, its too bad I started playing at the end of the beta I wanted to try out a lot more stuff like dungeons and pvp.
But the rift world event things were pretty cool
tried to start playing, but the game freezes every time when loading up after the intro video
As I said in my first post, the beta servers WILL NOT be back up until Beta 7 begins in about 6 days.
You will get an invitation to the beta event by email, at which point you'll know that your beta client is allowed to access the servers.
Before then, you'll have to sit tight. On your thumbs.
EDIT: BETA 7 WILL BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 15TH AND WILL LAST FOR 6 DAYS OF EPICNESS UNTIL FEBRUARY 21ST.

I liked Guardian more too when I tried it, I get to be a flying angel.
I was thinking about playing this, I mean it's the only ad on youtube I see nowadays, but I figured I have enough games to play so I'll pass. Looks pretty cool though.

The game's remarkably stable and polished considering that it's an MMO in beta.
That doesn't mean you'll like it or that Atmosfear will spare it his wrath.

How is this game now? Was thinking of starting to play an MMORPG this summer, how would this game do to satisfy that need?
Do you love WoW/EQ2/(insert recently developed fantasy MMO here)-style gameplay? If so, then you'll love Rift, and you'll probably also love its evolutionary innovations such as the somewhat flexible soul class system and the rift public quests and invasions.
If not, then wait for GW2 to blow your mind at the end of summer or in the fall.
