Cool Magical BBCode or am I missing the obvious?

    http://www.casualdiscourse.com/forum...ad.php?t=10489

I'm having difficulty with the spoiler tags. Honestly, how I format my post is not the point. What really has my attention is how this is happening and what, if anything, I'm doing wrong. For some reason, everytime I attempt to edit the thread it adds additional spoiler code sometimes with an empty spoiler or separates the video from the words. Not sure what's happening.

Well maybe if you didn't have a million useless size tags, the spoiler tag wouldn't glitch up.

I striped the bbcode to only what is causing the glitch

    Code:
    [ SIZE=2]

    [ spoiler=Less Than Zero]
    [/SIZE]
    [ SIZE=2]
    TEXT HERE
    [/spoiler]

    [ spoiler=PARTY]
    [/SIZE]
    TEXT HERE
    [/spoiler]
    looks like this:

    Less Than Zero
    Less Than Zero

    PARTY
    PARTY

So basically it's because you have a size tag that opens outside of a spoiler tag and closes within a spoiler tag. In other words, how you format your post is completely the point. If you didn't place a shit ton of format tags all haphazardly throughout your post, shit like that wouldn't happen.

The thought briefly crossed my mind, but the size tags did not show up when I edit the post so thought nothing else of it. I use the size function on the editting toolbar and for some reason doesn't show that code in posts.

    Thanks.

hey, this is another thing that crops up with vb 3.8 that's supposedly fixed in 4.0.

    Thanks for catching this, KT.!

I discovered the editor function. I feel like such a putz. Could have taken care of this myself if I had only looked at the editor function.

I mean editor mode not function. In the upper right corner of a reply is a small capital A over a large underlined A.

No, that is the upper left corner which I've also found to be useful.

Remove formatting is in the upper right corner. Maybe I'm blind but I don't see shit beside remove formatting. I need a screenshot.

Remove text formatting is circled black. Switching editor mode is circled red.

ohhh no wonder I had no idea about "editor mode" since it's not available in chrome. But I'm not sure what your point is since, at least in Firefox and IE, default mode let's you see tags. From what I can tell editor mode is basically the same as the preview post button.

So for the moment at least, I still think you're bbcode retarded.

I am using Firefox 8. The post editor by default shows most code go into effect as opposed to showing the tags except for the tags I typed in (eg spoiler tags). I concede to your claims of retardation because now I know I could have handled this myself but panicked and ran crying to the board for help.

Another thing I noticed with the post editor is the remove formatting button doesn't always show the effect of the size tags being removed. I switch over to editor mode and it shows the size code tags are gone, and eventually when I preview the post the text shows up as intended. Just confusing because it gives the appearance the size tags weren't removed.

Whenever you get back from killing jedis, sith, bounty hunters, and mandalorians, I guess you're going to take your millions earned from the Amazon ad to buy and install vbulletin 3.8.6 that was specifically updated to fix this size code tag problem.
