Thread: CD rules?

I think flaming out of flames, aol speak, and thread derailment should be handled. I think bad advice in PS should be punished as well, as well as some form of penalty for threads that get trashed.

I also think we should disallow image leeching and multiple accounts.

Definitely possible. Ideally, the infraction system will work just like the infraction system at LWS - certain infractions are worth certain numbers of points, and reaching X amount leads to a ban. It was 10 on LWS, and that seems like a reasonable number.

I guess I could ask Soup if he can tie trashed threads to the rep system, but other than that, maybe we could just add an infraction for the OP. No coding required.

Leeched images can just be removed, imo. No reason to ban people for it, unless they don't cut it the fuck out after having a few images removed.

Multiple accounts aren't really a big deal since there is no SP system or any other kind of reward that members would get by having more than one account. If others agree that we shouldn't allow multiple accounts, though, then I'm fine with disallowing it. I just don't see any way multiple accounts scams any system we have at CD - mostly it's about as annoying as letting people have free gimmick accounts, minus the "post with X account" box at the top of posts.

I honestly can say I haven't one actual idiot here yet. We're all primarily old-school LWSers, so we know the deal, and we aren't actively trying to seek out building our user base (as far as I am aware, I can't speak for the staff) so I would recommend not bogging the place down with rules. Just keep it as-is and chill, and if people do consistently be annoying, shoot them a PM about it and if it continues just forum ban or all-out ban them if they don't clean up their act after a nice request.
We don't need no rules to know how to rock, they're pretty well understood by everyone here - we aren't noobs.

I am for every part of this except image leeching as I am lazy.
