Because having friends makes you jealous.

Describe what you think an "emo" is. Seriously, I'm interested.

Emo is a culture that was birthed in the petty-bourgeois class. It is based on alienation, but in this case it is a superficial alienation based around an individualistic culture. This came from the rise of the division of labor, and so on.

It is bad because it reinforces the ignorance one has of non-petty-bourgeois life (or at least as far as history, sociology, etc. go) and is based on, as I said, individualism. It's worthless.

How so? I see the bourgeoisie, petty-bourgeoisie (which is what the US was built upon, "The American Dream") and the proletariat. These are the three main classes and I see them in every single state that exists right now. (The only exception are some extremely backwards nations with peasants whose entire lives revolve around the land they work on, or tribes)

Petty-bourgeoisie = middle class is an imperfect metaphor

Petty-bourgeois are those who primarily earn their own salaries as opposed to receiving a wage. So the self-employed, etc. would fall under this. As would accountants.
