Hi RTWD
Hmmmm.....Yeah, there is a program called StyleXP that does this very well (at least I think its called that, I can't remember. Been a while since I used it). I'm not sure if it works for vista, but I imagine they made a vista version or something.
Try googling that.
I would suggest against StyleXP. It does something that can be done for free if you know your way around a few folders inside of the Windows directory. The uxtheme.dll hack does this quite well, and allows you to use the skins that StyleXP uses, for free. I guess you could call it illegal, but it's sort of a gray area. The link I am including is a quick google to the most updated hack for Windows XP with Service Pack 3. I don't know if there is one yet for Vista, as I currently don't use it.

Also, DeviantArt.com is probably one of the better places to find skins. Here's the link to the most popular skins of all time. I currently use Concave VS, to give you a taste.

Uh who said anything about paying?
StyleXP is free isn't it?
At least if it isn't, its very easy to get a cracked copy. I've used it many times and not paid anything.
Well, even if it is free, you're still saving processing cycles and memory by using the hack, whereas otherwise you would need to run StyleXP all the time. It's probably negligible, but why bother with a program when technically it's already built in? Eh, whatever.
Hell, anyway. Skins aren't too much of a pain for me anymore, I use the extra stuff like Rainmeter and Rocketdock to spruce up my desktop. Finding the right skins and designs is what's a pain.
