    Default Anyone get Windows 7?

I just got the beta running on my laptop and I gotta say, I'm really impressed. It runs really really stable and smoother than what Vista did on my laptop and it's only a beta. I love what they did with the new task bar, granted it takes some getting used to. I'm hoping the finalized version is solid. Thoughts?

You have inspired me to download the iso and give it a try. The screenshots make it look like KDE mated with OSX.

Sweet. Post a screen of yours.

I just remembered that Paint has been updated. Kinda nice but I'll stick with Photoshop.

It's fast, lightweight and I'm very impressed with it so far. The taskbar is good, I like all the search boxes which helps you find settings or files much quicker and on any machine I have installed it on, it found all drivers straight away! It wouldn't surprise me if we see this OS released well before the new year as the build it more of a release candidate than a beta version.

I downloaded it, but only got as far as installing it via VirtualBox, so it's not quite full featured, but gives me enough taste to like it. So far, load times (for a virtual hard disk) are pretty good, though I have no sound, and Aero is disabled due to software rendering only. seems to run about the same as XP though, so I think once I get a chance to install it fully, I with fall in love with it.

I installed it and my copy of Vista x64 Pirate Edition got deactivated lol. Whether Windows 7 did it or not, Im not sure but I might install it again on my laptop.
I liked Windows 7, paint is awesome now and its a good OS my only problem with it is that I dont like the taskbar at the bottom, I like the classic one, and also that you still cant view animated .gif files in Windows Photo Gallery.

    The calculator is sick now

    And WMP looks great too

Yep should be possible. When you boot to your Win7 CD, select custom install instead of upgrade and it will then install

Not really caring that much about all the hate I assumed was placed on Vista, and which it works fine for me for a technically ignorant casual user. Windows 7 beta looks very impressive and I'm sort of wondering why none of this has already been implemented.
