The e8500 is great for gaming, I use the Q6600(have at 3.0GHz). For ram I use 2x2GB PC2 8500 1066MHz and it runs like a champ. My graphics card is a bit better then yours though I have a 4870 1GB. For the 8800GT, 1920x1080p is gonna be sluggish on the highest settings, but it should be playable at least.

I play in Window mode for games because i have AIM going at the same time, so in reality my games play at about half of the total screen. does that change aynthing?

There, fix't. I stopped using AIM a few years ago. Too bloated. Pidgin is an all in one, and I already converted a few of my friends. Your call on that one, I'm just making a suggestion.

As for playing your games in a windowed mode, that kills a lot of the reason you even have a 8800GT. You don't get full screen effects like AA and AF, and vsync is disabled in windowed mode, if my memory serves me right. Do you know what resolution your desktop is at? It should say it if you bring up the Nvidia Control Panel or your Display Properties if you right click. Plus, you get immersed in your games if you were to play full screen. I'm now drooling at the thought of maxing out Crysis on your rig, and even more so if you plan to upgrade anything.
