Default Any way of recovering an image that was saved-over?

I'm wondering if there is any programs out there that can recover an image back to it's original form, after it has been over-written with an edited version of the original.

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on your version of Windows, there may be a "previous version" saved by volume shadow copy. Right click on the file itself, or the folder it is in, and go to properties. Depending on your computers settings and OS, it may look something like this:

    Maybe you'll get lucky!

I only have General and Summery options, unfortunately. I'm running on Windows XP SP3.

If Shadow Copy (MrTroy's image) didn't catch it you _might_ be able to use something like GetDataBack or R-Studio to recover it, but chances are you won't get the full image back.

This is why you should always make a copy before you work on something important.
