Ping is ridiculously low when gaming... But download speeds are sub-100kb/s. No matter where I'm downloading from or what I'm downloading, its always below 100, and I have no idea why. The router is broadcasting at 270mbps and my N card is picking it up at 216mbps, and everything else is as fast as I expected it to be, but my download speeds are just horrid. Does anyone know why this is? With my peice of shit Belkin G router I get at least 500kb's on most downloads, and my speed tests top out at 2000kbps. Speed tests on this N router are upwards of 11000kbps. WHY?!
Okay, there is a major difference in a few things here. There is a BIG difference between 100MBps and 100Mbps. Often internet speeds are measured in megaBITS per second, and downloads on your PC are in MegaBytes or KiloBytes per second.

Even wireless G at 54MBps well outpaces the speed of the internet. Your internet speed tests tops out at about 2000Kbps, 2000 Kilobits per second is about 200Kilobytes per second. That is your internet speed. Your downloads will range from about 100 to 180 KB per second.
