    Default Hacking the nets

Well I just got the ipod touch for my birthday. Its nice and all but its no the iphone, so I can't connect to the internet all the time.

Here is my problem, my school has Wi-Fi throughout the whole building but its password protected. Yay! Does any one have any idea, if it's even possible to hack/get the password to my schools internet?

Don't you have an account at your school?

No, like we only have the Wi-Fi because all the classrooms get laptops but they already have the password inputed into them so students never no them.

Well, have you ever thought about contacting the IT department of your school and asking for the password? Worst that can happen is you get told no.

You could also see if you can borrow a classmate's laptop and dig for the passcode on there.

That's because there's no way for you to do it.

If it was as easy as asking the guy with the password I wouldn't of made a thread about it. There is a password for a reason, so students can't access the internetz.

Well you obviously didn't ask, so you don't know whether or not it's that easy.
I hear the voices inside my head. They counsel me. They understand. They talk to me.

    Doesn't that tell you something?

Depending on the encryption scheme used, it may be possible to hack it. But I don't think anyone is going to help you hack your school network.

There are ways, but you have to know what type of encryption the network is using.

Just keep trying passwords until the heat death of the universe, you die or graduate high school.

If they use WEP (does anyone anymore) then there are plenty of programs floating around to help you sniff the key, otherwise you're probably best off figuring out where it's stored in the registry and grabbing it from there. Of course, regedit is probably disabled, so just start guessing or give up and realize there's a reason they don't want you on their network.
