Thread: Red/White audio plugs and speakers

Hey guys, time to make something probably simple sound confusing. I want to hook up my 360 to my monitor and I have been able to do it fairly easily by plugging the VGA cable into my monitor and then running the red/white audio cords to my TV halfway across the room.

Well that is getting annoying so I want to get small speakers to put near my computer so that I don't have a jungle of wires going through my room if I want to play my 360. The thing is I don't know what kind of speakers to buy. I suppose I'm looking for suggestions but I don't know if there are any types of speakers that you just plug the red/white cords into.

Very speaker illiterate so pictures and pretty colors are appreciated. If the post doesn't make sense that's because I'm tired. Thank you in advance!

How much are you willing to spend? What you are saying makes plenty of sense. I've seen Logitech and Creative speakers as well as plenty of other brands that support what you want. You could really just buy any cheapo 5.1 system from WalMart for example and it will likely have stereo input. Although it won't run in true 5.1 unless you use optical out from the 360.

Something like that will work. It comes with an adapter that will take the L/R (red/white) jacks and make it into one 3.5mm jack for the speakers. My friend has this kind of setup for his 360 and it sounded good.

Thanks Snee something like that's exactly what I was looking for. I don't have too much room for way too fancy speakers but those look pretty good. Price wise I was looking for ~100$ or less so that is definitely a possibility. I'd be willing to go a little higher if you know of something that's very high quality for fairly cheap but as I said I don't have much room to arrange them.

A little bit more but will deliver nice 2.1 since your limited on space.

I use Bose Companion 2. Dinky little speakers but they work for what I want.

You want a pair of speakers that have an AUX Input so that you can use them as computer speakers AND plug an external source such as an ipod or in your case an xbox 360.

Running out of these AUX input would be this Y Adapter
