Well, my wifi in my macbook worked when I got it and now it fails to detect anything when other macs and notebooks are picking up the signal fine. I will give you 5 sp if you lead me towards a solution because mac forums is completely useless.

Disclaimer: I am a Windows guy, I am not a Mac expert by any means. If I am way off, then punch me in the face, just trying to help.
What about other networks?, can you not pick up any wireless network or just your own? Does this Mac have a Wifi switch like a lot of laptops do nowadays? By switch I mean a little button or switch on the case itself that turns the wireless card on and off, that is often a problem that can be easily overlooked. I've seen people try to remove/re-add in Windows Device Config and reload drivers and all that was wrong was the little wifi switch was set to off.
I can't pick up any networks at all, I should be able to pick up my house connection and my campus' wifi. There isn't an external switch, I turn it off in the os.
