Three years ago on boxing day, I bought a random pair of Sennheiser's from the Bay for $60~ and they're still kickg around and souding great in spite of the admittedly minor abuse they've gone through. I have no idea what the model name is, but after perusing the website, it seems that they're closest to the eh 250 or 350 models, although a slightly different colour. They're over ear earmuff-style headphones, and unless i'm listening at max volume (which hurts my ears), nobody can hear what i'm listening to, even when I'm right beside them, and if i hang them around my neck and run them at max, they're pretty much on par, in terms of volume, with built-in laptop speakers. The sound quality has always been wonderfully crisp and the cord is about 5' in length which works wonders when i'm doing some home recording. I specifically bought them because their decibel limit was around 110dB~ (maybe 105, maybe 112, I can't remember and lost the manual), so when I'd plug them directly into my amp, there was never any problem of raping the speakers when i wanted to drown myself in music.
Although this is a shitty way of guessing, since a basic model from this company works so well for me, I'm sure that getting a higher quality one is a good way of investing
hooray for headphone advice well past the point of it's necessity!
edit: Apparently they are HP 212 Pros, or at least those letters and numbers in some order.
