The Apple iPad: Who cares?

After all the speculation and hype building up to the release of the Apple tablet, Apple sure did disappoint.

You need an adapter for USB for fucks sake. No video output connector, no multitasking, all apps go through Apples App Store. The list of missing features goes on. And it's ugly as sin. The iPod Touch/iPhone design is starting to get old in my opinion. What's with that ugly ass bezel.

Jobs claimed that it has the best web browsing experience ever. Really? So that means Apple will finally support Flash on their mobile devices. Oh wait they aren't. Considering so many websites use Flash I don't see how the iPad will deliver the best web browsing experience.

If they did anything right, they got the price down to a reasonable level to compete with Netbooks at a price of $500 for the 16GB model. Of course Netbooks support up to x10 that much disk space so at $500 I can buy a laptop that does everything the iPad can't. Well besides the touch surface I suppose.

I think the iPad will make ridiculous amounts of money, people will be queuing for blocks to get one and everybody that has one will be pompous and arrogant and think theyre a superhero.

Yeah my friend and I were talking about this. Doesn't matter how terrible of a device it is. People are going to buy one regardless to show off to their friends.

for instance, Stephen Fry was one of the first to try it out and said "It's transcendentally smooth and fast. It's astounding. God, it's beautiful. The display is stunning. I'm drooling with anticipation."

So Apple has yet again managed to fool people into wanting shit that looks pretty and works like it should. Advertising and Marketing win.

And you can replace iPad with anything Apple.

As far as I can tell, they created a big iPhone and added books to the iTunes store. Like a heavily locked-down netbook without a keyboard. Why? Apparently they want this to become the Apple eReader, but they aren't even using eInk. It'd be like reading a book on a laptop (since it's the same backlit LCD technology), which sucks, unless eyestrain happens to give you a hard-on.

Macintosh is one of those companies that earns both my distaste and my respect. I hate their products, and would never/have never bought any of them because of how bad they are, yet I am incredibly impressed with their sales figures and their ability to tap into the social side of sales.

still no flash but looks a hell of a lot better. ONLY $35 SQUILLION WITHOUT A DATA PLAN OR 3G
