Default How to make mac safe for snoopy people to use?

So I hate when other people use my laptop. I don't trust other people not to mess with my stuff, and I keep my passwords saved for a bunch of websites, so I don't want people going through my email and stuff (even accidentally).

At the same time, I don't want to be a douche when a friend wants to check their email really quick, or when my dad needs to use my computer because somebody is on the other one.

Is there a program or a way I can set it up so I just click on an app or something and it just makes my personal files and saved browser stuff off-limits until I put in a password? Something quick and simple is ideal so I don't have to say "hold on" and do shit for 10 minutes before letting them use my computer. Thanks.

Theres a program called 'Hide Folders' that basically does what you want. It basically creates a new window within the program and you can drag and drop and folders you don't want people snooping in in there, then just highlight the folder and click hide. You can set the program to require a password when it opens. All it does it make the folders into hidden ones so its possible to circumvent with something like OnyX and setting to show hidden folders and files, but it should suffice for what you need. I think for the password thing you need to get the pro version (i.e. get a crack or more likely a cracked username and registration code through something like KCNScrew) but thats not too difficult.

You can put programs in it if you like too but i guess thats sort of awkward so it probably won't help with your browser stuff, its good for keeping people out of your personal files and folders tho.

Alternatively you can just create a second account with just user permissions and just duel log that when other people want to use your computer and let them use it through that.
