Default Recommendations for wireless gaming mouse?

I have had a Logitech G7 for years, loved it to death and may get another one. The left-click has turned into an often double-click in error, and I googled for the repair job and tried that but I apparently don't have the dexterity or steadiness to fix it, as I now can no longer left-click at all. (I reversed the right/left clicks so I am struggling along for the time being)

I am open to something different instead of a replacement though, so let me know what you like.

Here is what I'm looking for based off what I like about my current mouse:
    * Wireless, USB-rechargeable battery pack preferred, but I use regular rechargeable AA and AAA batteries anyway so those are ok too. My current one uses a hot-swappable pack which is nice.
    *Laser or optical
    * A high DPI that can be switched easily (to toggle between quick trigger FPS games and photoshop work)
*I don't care about tons of programmable buttons - this is something I see a lot on nicer mice but I simply don't use it. I want to left/right click, middle mouse button/click, and change DPI on the fly. I have no need for anything else so if that gets a lower price point that would be great
    *Looking to spend is $50-100

I didn't shop around for the best price, so I wouldn't be surprised if you could get this mouse cheaper elsewhere.

Razer are awesome for gaming mice, and sure it does have a few extra buttons that you say you won't use, but having some extra buttons just incase can't hurt. Better than finding out you need buttons that you don't have.

Here is another nice Razer mouse, the one I'd get if I had the money, but its a little bit outside your pricerange, but figured I'd link you just so you can have a look.

    I have this: http://reviews.logitech.com/7061/467...ws/reviews.htm

I also dislike 1000 programmable buttons, so I disabled most of them. I have big, man hands so this mouse is comfortable as well. Battery life is fantastic and I had it for 2 years now with no issues.

Razer makes some nice stuff but their mice are goofy.

    Their mice are amazing.
I have a razer copperhead and I love it.

I don't understand how you can dislike extra buttons...if you don't use them, its not like they get in the way?
Just handy if you do need extra ;p

I have a Razer (not wireless), but I love it. The programmable keys are useful for gaming, then... The back and forward button. I was so excited to have this, until I spent an hour buffering my tv show (internet sucks in the dorms) and hit the back button

    ... -_-

I think I've decided on the Razer Mamba, anyone have one? The reviews I've read are either "best mouse ever" or "this shit broke in its first month", but the company has replied to lots of those and seems to be really customer service oriented to quickly fix the problems that do occur. I quickly found a $109 price at Amazon and bet I can get one for $99 or so if I keep my eyes open for the next month (this is my christmas gift)

I'm pretty sure either the one I'm getting (Razer Mamba) or the Logitech G700 but that one had too many buttons for me

Actually the Mamba is $109 on Amazon and MSRP of $129. The mouse I'm replacing was ~$80 and served me well, I definitely got my money's worth.

Queendork's Treo is on it's deathbed, so I went ahead and ordered her a new iPhone refurb, was supposed to be her Christmas present but the circumstances dictated an early present. So of course I made her go ahead and order my gift too. Christmas will be coming on Nov 22nd. We tend to be extremely frugal people that give a name to every dollar we spend, and I am confident from prior experience with a nice mouse that it is worth the money since I will use it so much.

aww lol they musta fixed it....
it was a mouse mat that they had listed for £2600.
it must have been a bug in the database or something, they had a razer mouse that was going for £4000 too lol.

I forgot there is a new Amazon warehouse in Indiana, so even though we ordered the mouse last night it arrived today at work. (I hope I get Gran Turismo 5 a day early too)
It is super sweet, I've already got it set up with the forward/backward buttons on a macro to tab forward and backward through Firefox tabs so I think I'm going to really enjoy this mouse.
The packaging is entirely overkill, it is very very nice and the plastic case it comes in is like 1/10" plexiglass, very heavy.

Paypal me $15 and I will send you my old mouse in the fancy packaging

(technically you could fix the mouse and have a sweet $75 wireless mouse but I tried and lack the good eyes and fine motor control to bend a little copper piece back into shape properly)

I have been debating with a friend, he says the logitech mx518 is the best gaming mouse ever.
I tell him this razer mouse is, for all the reasons discussed in this thread.
Also his mx518 looks horrible and like its been thrown down a hardwood flight of stairs a few times. edit: After some researching into this because I was curious and also procrastinating I found out that, " Logitech used a holographic image on the mouse, making it appear dented, or shot with bullets; this would have an obvious appeal to people who play games, and is considered a selling point." Clever I guess, because that looks very realistic...but also very dumb imo and makes it look shit.

    who's right

MX518 is a very good mouse. A great mouse for the money, probably the best for that price range in fact. My prior mouse was a G7, a very similar model except the G7 was wireless.

MX518 is not wireless. I greatly prefer a wireless mouse. Therefore the MX518 is not a good mouse in my opinon. I don't mind paying more money for a mouse that I like - I use it hours on end every single day.

Well yeah its prob best value for money, but we weren't counting value for money, because obv that is the best in the price range yeah.

As far as the wireless goes, yeah I don't mind wireless as long as there is no lag, and my friend says no because of possible lag.
We both play a lot of games, he plays sc2 competitively.

There was no lag on my G7 from ~2005 and there is no lag on the Mamba, they advertise 1ms ping I believe.

I'll prob get flamed for this but the best mouse (for gaming and overall usage) has been THIS ONE.

It fits right in my hand (good grip pads on the sides), and it has an oval shape so it slides across the mousepad with ease. Oh and it's quick and sharp
The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge.
