Single notebook key doesn't work

This is driving me freakin' nuts, but a SINGLE key on my laptop keyboard doesn't work, namely the "b." I have a back up external keyboard, but still it's ridiculous to use a big honking external keyboard like this.

The mechanism on this keyboard is, of course, the stupid-ass collapsible rubber dome scissor switch design. I did confirm that every other key is working. I think the contact pad is just fucked on the bottom of the dome. Is there any home-brew solution to fix this I could try while I'm waiting for my replacement keyboard to come?

Conductive paint on the contacts (not connecting them obvi)?

Very rare. I would have suggested you chisel out the crusted semen under the key(s).

Use the USB keyboard till you get the replacement.

Different generation Keyboard has different key mechanism and have vertical or horizontal scissor switch. Keys cannot interchange but keyboard are interchangeable if the key is not working.
