I'm sure Skullcandy makes some iPhone 4 cases, too. The only issue with them is that the outside of the case wears over time.

Textured cases piss me off.

You'll attract all the hot men with that case. I'm almost jealous.

I drink frequently. I also play with things a lot to keep my hands idly busy. I used to spin my blackberry on a table top because the back was slightly curved. Now I spin and flip my phone between my fingers and it drops from time to time. I also use my phone a lot in the car, where I normally leave it in my lap. It's a long way from the front seat to the pavement in my truck. I mean I went from a Blackberry that was virtually indestructible to an iPhone that is notoriously fragile.

My bigger problem is that my entire life is basically running through my phone. All of my email comes through my phone, and most of it never gets read on a real screen. My phone calendar and alarms keep my schedule. I have huge text volumes and comparatively tiny call volumes. I spend hours a day in meetings and my phone is the only way to remain productive through them. Oh, and then there's also the music, games, reading, movies, photos, and browsing I do on my phone, not to mention the daily use of iFitness, GPS, Sportacular, Facebook, OpenTable, etc etc. If I had to go a few days without a phone while waiting for a replacement, my entire situation would be painfully screwed up.

So yeah, I'm more than a little protective of the lynchpin of my professional and personal lives. I'm happy to pay $40 and the mild inconvenience of a larger case to ensure that I never have to deal with not having my phone. And frankly, I just don't know anyone who has an iPhone for more than a couple months that isn't damaged in some way. On the 4, it's (fortunately) usually the back glass, but why worry about it? I didn't pay $300 to stare through a spiderweb of cracked glass all day.

And to the obvious counterargument: I am more important than my phone, so no, I am not willing to make a lifestyle adjustment to accommodate an over-functioning fucking fashion accessory. The iPhone serves my purposes, not the other way around.

ah okay. I don't drink but my brother does and he usually breaks his phone every 6 months from doing something retarded while drunk. Last time he jumped into a pool with his phone still in his pocket.

Did you know the Otterboxes aren't necessarily xbox huge? My wife has one of the hardshell clunky case ones - she hated it as first but now loves it. My otterbox is very thin, its merely a silicone sleeve. It's great, and has plenty of grip if I set it down somewhere.
