    Its going to corrode regardless. Especially if it has electricity going through it.

    I rub my shotgun down with #0000 Steel wool sometimes, and have never had a problem with rust.

    And you dont need to clean it anyway, you would have to take it out to clean it, just get a new one, they are like less than $5.
