Default Worst accident you have been in?

Well I figured I would make this thread because I was in a car accident today. I was in the left lane on the highway with my 98 Malibu. All of a sudden I hear a loud bang which I later found out was my left rear tire blowing out. I lost control of my car and did a 360 across three lanes and hit the guard rail. Luckily I did not hit anyone else and I was left unscathed.

If I get a chance I'll take some pics of the damage. Car is currently in the shop.

Anyone care to share some stories?

Thats sucks about the accident. I hope all is well! I hope your insurance is good.

I really was never in a life-threatening accident. I was in a BMW 325i with my cousin on a really icy/snowy night and we went broadside into a ditch on a backroad (we were fucking around). And hit a couple deer. Otherwise nothing that great.

I've only gotten in one motor vehicle accident (knock knock) and it involved me driving directly into a two hundred pound wild hog at about three o'clock in the morning, going about fifty-five mph on a GSXR750 and I might as well have hit a four foot brick wall because my bike flipped end over end and I slid/rolled across the road for about thirty feet before coming to rest in a ditch full of palmetto bushes. I got up and looked back. The hog was still there, grazing on the side of the road like nothing had happened.

I myself haven't been in an accident yet. With the way people drive I probably will.

The worst I was in was before I had my license. 1994 Ford Aspire, two dumb 15-year-olds and a plotted revenge against another dumb teenager who liked to talk crap. We did what we did, drove off, then took a 15 MPH turn at 40 on wet pavement. Both airbags deployed and my friend who wasn't wearing his seatbelt had all five or six nametags from his McDonalds uniform come loose and fly into the hatchback. He was also wearing a necklace with a skull and crossed guitars. Both the guitars broke off and stuck in his chest. The car started back up and externally it did not look too damaged. Smoke from the airbags was rolling out, the windshield was cracked from the airbag and a state trooper passed us on the way home without so much as a second glance. Instead of totaling the vehicle, the insurance company decided to have it repaired for over $7000 in damage despite the fact that the car cost hardly more new.

Fifteen years later we still bring up our stupidity. I learned my lesson and have become more cautious over the years, he went on to have multiple DUIs, total at least four vehicles and nearly kill himself with the last accident.

I was just in a major 4 vehicle pile up. This is the only accident I've ever been injured in, although the rolling of the 'vette was probably the scariest.

My brother and I were driving west on the 90 in central NY. He's been selected for some special project and has to drive out to LA from Boston for his job. I was going to ride with him and help him get out there faster and just fly back. Anyways, its night and raining, the car is his black on black 2002 328 BMW. The car is spotless, he is anal about this car. He was driving at the time and noticed that there was some standing water ahead so he takes precaution. He starts slowing down, and for added effort, he puts his hazard flashers on. We start making way through the water and it gets deeper. Its like the Nile river was crossing the interstate. On the other side of the highway there were cops telling traffic to slow down. A major water backup from the rains or a water main break or a combination of both must have occurred. No cops were present on our side of the highway.

We were in the water pretty deep, like a foot of water when the first vehicle rear ended us. It was a Chevy van, mid 90s maybe, driven by an old lady who shouldn't operate a wheel chair, let alone a vehicle. I don't think she slowed down at all, probably hit us at about 70 MPH. The BMW was spun and pushed deeper into the water. The front of the vehicle was now pointing at the guardrail on the right side of the road, the van barreled forward after pushing us and slammed into the left concrete barrier. Shaken, I look towards my brother to see if he's OK. He's searching for his phone when he looks up at me and says OH SHIT. That's when the second car struck the passenger side of the BMW. It was a late 90s Accord. That hit actually knocked me around a bit, and ended up breaking my hand. When I started to come to my brother was trying to drag me out of the car. When I got out of the driver's side, I was standing in a foot and a half of water. It was above my knees, I was shocked. My brother grabbed me by the arm and jumped over the guard rail telling me to get out of the way. I followed suit, jumped over the guard rail and looked back to examine the damage. He was already on his phone when the 4th vehicle plowed through the pile of cars. An 18 wheeler tractor trailer demolished what was left of the BMW and Accord, along with our possessions.

It was quite the experience, and I'm lucky that the accord hit only smashed my hand. I have a few cuts and bruises other than the cast on my right hand, but most of those are healing nicely. The BMW probably saved my life. The driver of the Accord got out of his car at some point. We shared a meal at Denny's after the police and tow trucks cleaned up the cars. He said he didn't even see the BMW until he hit it. The old lady in the van was taken away by ambulance along with her husband. They both sustained injuries worse than I did.

    That's fucking awful! I'm glad you're ok.
I'd post pictures of the time I stole my dad's company truck (I was 17) and after a 5th of Lord Calvert rolled it 4 times into some pine trees crushing the roof and totaling the truck! My dad almost literally killed me. His company kept him around long enough to take the value of the truck before it was totaled out of his paycheck every week and then promptly fired him. Dad & I still don't talk to too much.
