It's because our supermarket has a promotion where you get so much off if you buy so much in their store. We had to shop...a lot. it was 1.89...got a dollar off.

Filled up for $1.44 a gallon this morning and it was $1.41 this evening. Couldn't fit 25 bucks in it and it right at empty.
I'm not buying the whole supply and demand makes the prices bull shit. I have seen tons more traffic lately cause gas is cheap and people can afford to get out which would create more demand and in theory cause prices to go back up. That's not happened, prices continue to drop.
