Still Around...
That makes two of us: this site and me.
I retired from the Army (finally) nearly two years ago. A certain pandemic and my latter assignments ensured I had nearly five months of leave saved up, so that was nice, collecting active duty pay and benefits months after taking off the uniform for the last time. I then got a job at Bass Pro Shops. Too bad, so sad, I lost that job recently after getting verbal approval from a manager to override a potential straw purchase. The fulltime gun counter guy and my name were on the paperwork, though, so when corporate asked questions, we were tossed under the bus. Oh well, Bass Pro isn't exactly the most Second Amendment friendly retailer out there. And, yes, I worked in firearms; as the Gun Vault Specialist I was responsible for the very thing they let me go for: ensuring that the ATF stays happy. But it was also a bunch of retail nonsense, with me doubling as a Range Safety Officer, tripling as a used gun appraiser, and quadrupling as a stand-in for the gun counter when needed. I don't like people; I tried to make that clear by staying in the back as much as possible. Oh, and despite that "out of sight, out of mind" job I was hired for, they still wanted all of the usual things like credit card referrals.
But enough bitching... I'm waiting to get cleared for my DOT physical to start doing some armored car guard/courier work. I made it just about two years in retail, which will go on the resume but which I do not plan to ever venture into again. In about 24 months of employment there, I bought something along the lines of 36 guns. During my final nine months in the Army, I bought about 12. I've got a few, but for some reason the wife tells me I have to sell some if I want to buy something for the new job. I tried convincing her that I need a new handgun for carry, but I guess the Glock 17 Gen5 will have to suffice for now. Once another check starts rolling in, though, I plan to get an FN509. I
Glad to see this site is still around, even if it's mostly quiet these days. I brought CD and LWS up in a YouTube comment earlier, after watching a video about the death of forums.

Glad to see you survived working for Uncle Sam! (obligatory: Thanks for working for Uncle Sam!)
I worked retail for quite a few years when I was in my early 20s, I always wondered what was worse, army grunt work, or dealing with stupid customers?
as for 9mm, I'm partial to my H&K VP9
